The Metropole Saloon & Restaurant

A surprise find here in Shamrock, TX. Great service by (I think it was Cindy or Sydney… sorry ), the armies comfortable, and the food was very delicious. The greens (asparagus and Brussel sprouts) could have been a bit more done but all in all very tasty food. As you see in the photos we had the strip steak with the greens and the filet with a potato and salad. Recommend for sure.

This place is spot on thee very best. Cool vibe, great food with perfect service. It was an unexpected score when we came off the interstate in search of good grub. Interior was well designed

We had the best time on our date night! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The prime rib was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and juicy. For sides, we shared smashed potatoes (SO good!), crispy Brussels sprouts, onion rings, and fried okra—each one was better than the last. Everything was seasoned perfectly and served hot. From start to finish, the meal was flawless. Our server was so friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Highly recommend for a special night out or just when you're craving something truly satisfying!

This place is a hidden gem! If you think you like steak you will love this place. Price is better than it should be for what is delivered. Highly recommended!

What an amazing find along our travels! The filet, mac' n’ cheese, and grilled Brussels sprouts were one of my favorite meals ever. The steak is delicious, and their version of Mac' n cheese is a must. The decor was inviting, and Karry's service was attentive and friendly. A must-stop for dinner. Highly recommend.

The food was so good, the staff very friendly, the owners were lovely but the drinks!!...amazing. Bartender did her thing! I got a rare filet cooked too perfection. It was so good we came back the next day. Highly recommend.

I rated The Metropole high based mostly on character. Am I back in the Old West? No I'm in Shamrock, Texas. Old country music playing, cowboys at the bar and rodeo on the big screen makes this place super unique and memorable, but my favorite was the high heel cowboy boots on a rather stylish customer. Food was fine and service excellent. Can't wait to go back some day for another dose.

After driving for hours while moving across country, we arrived in Shamrock close to 9pm on a Friday night and wanted a good dinner that WASN'T fast food. I got on my phone and looked for a restaurant, happily discovered this "newish" place that looked promising. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! We were greeted by a friendly gal and taken care of quickly. Our server, Callie, was just the sweetest, and the service and food was excellent! We both had the Filet; cooked to perfection! The homemade mashed potatoes were also delicious! The decor is cool - nice-looking trophy mounts, kind of nostalgic local articles on the walls...it has a bit of an "Old West meets Speakeasy" feel to it. It was a Friday night during football season, and by golly, Callie even got us the score for the local high school game when we asked(they won!). We enjoyed it here so much that we're planning a trip on the Harley down from Oklahoma when it's warmer weather in 2023!
